Zespół Szkół Społecznych nr 1 w Rzeszowie, called Priest Jan Twardowski's school is a grant-maintained school located at 26 Bohaterów Street in Rzeszów.

The building is a bungalow, not big but very cosy and comfortable. The school was established in 1990 and it was run by the association whose members are the teachers and the parents. The charter school promotes and practices Catholic values in teaching and bringing up the children and teenagers. We teach our students not only knowledge but also responsibility, truth and values based on Christian faith.

Our school is small and safe. There are 35 teachers and about 131 students. There are also children from abroad. We have kids from Canada, the USA and Germany.

The school consists of:

• pre-school
• primary school
• lower secondary school

Educational goals:

• supporting intellectual, physical and spiritual development of students;
• integrating the group and initiating various forms of cooperation;
• teaching skills of communicating with others;
• developing students' interests and passions.

The standard of teaching is high and the teachers have good qualifications. They treat each child individually. The school provides pedagogical therapy and a logopedic teacher to children with special educational needs.

Classes are small. There are 6-16 pupils in each class. Each class has its own classroom - they have lessons in one place and change the classroom for information technology and physical education. They have swimming classes once a week. Children learn 2 foreign languages (English and German) in primary school. There are many additional activities like art classes, dances, French, computers, corrective gymnastics, piano lessons.

The school celebrates national holidays and organises performances related to different events during the school year. Before Christmas we have a school Christmas Eve party and after Easter we have Easter breakfast. Children prepare meetings on Grandparents' Day and in June we observe Parents' Day during family picnic at school.

• - 390 zł for primary and lower secondary school
